Yet, we all need good legal advice to know our options, assess the possible consequences and to strategize in any particular situation. And of course, we want to know the costs of any future legal steps.
An initial consultation with a lawyer is there for just that reason: to ask those questions. For example, is it worth launching legal proceedings — which can be long, costly, and emotionally tiring? What are advantages and disadvantages of your potential alternatives?
Despite the usual temptation to simply Google a situation similar to yours, in reality every situation is somewhat different–and this difference, however small, could mean a lot. Often only a lawyer can see that nuance and guide you through the maze of the Quebec justice system. A lawyer can usually explain the various procedural steps available as well.
How to make an appointment for your first legal consultation
Benefitting from our first consultation for $125 is quite simple. Call our office at 514 904 4017 or contact us by email : [email protected]. We will make an appointment for you. The first consultation can be made in person at our office or, if you prefer, by phone. When making an appointment, we will ask you some preliminary questions to note the main facts and assess the urgency, so that your lawyer will have that information when the consultation starts.
How you can prepare for the first consultation
To take the most of your first consultation, we recommend you prepare a list of issues and questions to start with. It is also recommended to have relevant documents (or copies) with you, so that the lawyer could look through them if necessary. Please note that the maximum time for your first consultation is one hour.

Several options are available for you after the first consultation. Sometimes one consultation is enough, as you get the legal advice you wanted. Sometimes you would prefer to proceed and decide if you want to retain our services for the rest of your case. Please note that our regular hourly rate for the subsequent work is $200. Court fees, bailiff fees, stenographer fees could also apply if necessary. In this case we will provide you with an estimate in advance.
